What is an Apprenticemakers Champion?

An Apprenticemakers Champion is someone prepared to champion apprenticeships and act as a mentor to businesses taking on apprentices for the first time.

Apprenticemakers that have completed the short course will gain the Apprenticemakers Champion logo on their profile which demonstrates that they’re happy to share their experiences of apprenticeships with others and have considered the mentoring role. Other members will be able to find you more easily and you could help them to take on their very first apprentice. There are no formal obligations to becoming an Apprenticemakers Champion but we recognise it is for those who are willing to ‘go the extra mile’ when supporting another business.

How does it work?

Once you have registered as an Apprenticemaker you’ll be able to complete the short course online. It should only take around thirty minutes and will provide you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to effectively carry out this role. Even sparing just an hour of your time a month to interact with other members can make a big difference. Completing the course will also give you guidance on ways in which you can help other businesses – be it through the Apprenticemakers community or meeting in person or over the phone – as part of a one-on-one mentoring role.
